Ever since I was a little girl, my mom has kept a wonderful tradition of giving my siblings and I an ornament every year. Typically the ornaments are from a trip my parents have been on or memory from that year. Some of the ornaments were even ones she and I made together (i.e., salt dough ornament in the below photo.) Once we were out on our own, my mom gave us all our ornaments so we could decorate our own tree. Learn How to Start a Creative Journal
I’ve been keeping some type of journal for well over 35 years. My journals come in all shapes and sizes and can contain all sorts of expressions – drawing, paintings, collages, lists/notes, stories, travel diary, photos and so much more. Given this wide range of ideas that I put in my journal, I think the best name for them are creative journals! I find so many benefits from keeping a creative journal. At Home Creative Adventure: 4 Objects, 1 Color
We can become easily immune to the colorful objects and items that fill our homes. Brighten your day with this creative color exercise and celebrate those items you may not see anymore! For this project, I picked my favorite turquoise blue shade and found: a small globe, a mini-house souvenir from Denmark, a candle and a santon figurine from Provence. They are an odd pairing of objects, yet still make for an interesting illustration. Below is the still life on my desk.
