Creative Wanderlust Prompt: Las Vegas
What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas… well not true this week. Let’s use this glitter town as inspiration to get creative!
This week we are heading to Sin City to be inspired by all things Vegas! For those who have never been, Las Vegas, Nevada is quite a sight to see. Not just for all the things we think about when we hear of Vegas (lights, gambling, night clubs, show girls, partying) but what I find most fascinating is a how a trading post along the Spanish Trail in the Mojave Desert (Vegas in Spanish means “the meadows”) turned into one of the world’s top tourist destinations and has become a neon-studded metropolis known as the “Entertainment Capital of the World.” If you look on the outskirts of the city, and check the temperature on any given day in the summer, there is no denying that you are truly in a desert! Yet despite the astronomical heat, the city continues to thrive.
I have had my share of adventures in this town. From attending a wedding conducted by Elvis, to donning my best retro outfit for my sister’s bachelorette weekend, I have no shortage of stories that confirm the cliché Vegas mottos. I can confidently say, thought, I have never done anything I regret in Vegas, but for some reason that town does something to a person. I find it’s a place you can really let go and be who you want to be, and no one will ever blink an eye!
Despite its naughty reputation, Vegas offers a wealth of colorful inspiration, so, let’s dive and get going. And, please, share what you make! I can’t wait to see!
