Creative Journal Prompt: Ice Cream Flavors of the Season
One of my favorite things to do when I walk into an ice cream shop is to peruse all the different flavors. Although I usually go for the same kinds every time (hello cookie dough, cookie crumbs, caramel & coffee), I just love seeing all the different concoctions. I mean, how fun would it be to be an ice cream flavor designer?
I’m kicking off my summer, with a super fun prompt to get you inspired, but if you’d like, you could do this prompt at any time of year, I mean, who wouldn’t want to hear about your spooky Halloween ice creams, or your romantic Valentine ice cream assortment?
So pull out your creative journal and follow along with this video tutorial below to create 6 ice cream flavors for the season in your journal. Feel free to pause the video at any time to read the brief instructions or catch up on drawing. This prompt is all about exploring colors of the season and letting watercolor “do its thing” even if it gets messy! Also, try to come up with flavors that aren’t necessarily food related, but seasonal. You may come up with a new all time hit!
As always, I want to see what you create, so make sure to email me a quick pic of your ice cream flavors! If you love this idea above, but not sure exactly what a Creative Journal is, be sure to take my free class which explains everything: Start a Creative Journal class.
I’m off to grab a scoop of Lazy Dayz ice cream, how about you?
